Bruce Springsteen Gets Bilingual With “Solo le Pido a Dios”

September 18, 2013

Bruce Springsteen told fans at the end of his first show in Argentina in 25 years that he wanted to play something special, but didn’t want to risk messing up the Spanish lyrics. Instead, he suggested the crowd stay tuned to his website for a version of “Solo le Pido a Dios” (“I Only Ask God”), a song originally written by Argentine folk-rocker Leon Gieco in protest of the military dictatorship in the late 70’s. Bruce introduces the song in Spanish, referencing his memory of his first visit to Argentina and the “difficult time” the country was going through. Check out a full video of the performance.
