‘Broad City’ Returns with All the Grateful Dead References

Abbi and Ilana are back for season three of Broad City and they’re bringing with them some of their favorite bands, including the Grateful Dead. In a teaser for the new season, Abbi Jacobson sports a Dead tee in one breakfast scene and also has a Grateful Dead poster in her room.
In the January_February issue of Relix, Jacobson explains her jambands roots, saying, “My dad was really into the Dead and classic rock, and he would always talk about the jocks, the greasers and all these different groups in the ‘60s and ‘70s. We were the jamband kids. When Phish went on hiatus, I ended up going to a lot of the other shows that took their place. It was a very social part of who I was hanging out with.”
