Jarle Bernhoft is a Norwegian muscian, who performs solo, often utilizing a variety of pedals and gear in a manner similar to Keller Williams. Last February in Oslo, Relix editors Josh Baron and Dean Budnick were on hand at the ceremony where he was honored with the Statoil stipend, which is worth 1 million NOK (just over $150,000). This annual prize is directed to a musician with the potential to bring his music out of Norway to the wider world. This will certainly happen in June when Bernhoft will perform at Bonnaroo. Two fans who pitched on his behalf were Amy Spears and her four year old son. As part of the festival’s Roo13WishList contest Spears had pledged that if Bernhoft were added, she would permit her four year old to shave her head on stage. Yesterday, Spears was one of the individuals selected to announce the 2013 lineup and her list included Bernhoft, who later tweeted, "So, I’m officially playing at Bonnaroo 2013! That performance will include a brand new barbershop number dedicated to AtropaBdonna (Spears’ Twitter username).
