‘AA’ Hockey Team Celebrates Upcoming Grateful Dead Night With Lot-Worthy Jerseys
The Kalamazoo Wings, a Michigan-based ‘AA’ hockey team, have announced their first Grateful Dead night.
And while the idea of a team celebrating the Grateful Dead is nothing new—the San Francisco Giants have been the band’s de facto sports ambassadors for years—the Wings have debuted some of the freshest tie-dye jerseys since the Lithuanian Basketball Team repped the Dead in ’92.
According to the Wings’ website, they are the first minor-pro hockey team to honor the Dead, and following the Feb. 10 game, fans will have the chance to bid on a Steal Your Face jersey of their own.
But why stop there? Dead & Company have make-up dates at the end of February and a Summer Tour kicking off in June.
Deadheads know a good lot shirt when they see one. One for $20, two for $35?
