Widespread Panic’s Alternative Names for H.O.R.D.E.

Dean Budnick on April 5, 2012

The H.O.R.D.E. Tour debuted in July 1992 following a meeting between members of Blues Traveler, Phish, Widespread Panic, Spin Doctors, and Col. Bruce Hampton and Aquarium Rescue Unit. After the bands all agreed to play some dates together they still needed a name for the tour. John Popper suggested H.O.R.D.E. but before the matter was definitively settled, the groups offered their own suggestions. Here are some options offered by Widespread Panic:

Deli Tray

Trust Fund Hobo Fest

Cavalcade of The Large

Rhythm Ball

Friendship Ball

Perfect Harmony

Five Road Crews With Their Bands

Rhythm, Shapes and Movement

Lotsa Loose Pooozle

Keep Your Mooching Hippie Ass Out of The Dressing Room Tour (The)

Summer of Flesh

Corn Dodgers

Which of these appeals to you? Do you have a name of your own that you think would have better suited the tour? Stop by the Doctor’s Orders blog to share some thoughts and your response may well end up in the next issue of Relix.
